"Why, it is May!" said Toad
as he climbed out of bed.
Then he and Frog
ran outside
to see how the world
was looking in the spring.
For those of you who thought the winter of 2018 would never end- this book will resonate with you.
Our reviewer loved his mom reading this book to him. What he remembers the most is the laughing.

From B. G. HENNESSY:
Everyone deserves a friend like Frog or Toad to make day-to-day life interesting. Their adventures usually start off in the most mundane way, from making and then losing a list, waiting for a garden to grow, or buying an ice cream cone. There is nothing that having a friend doesn't make better. The series is an early chapter/ beginning reader book, but the pictures are as enchanting as any picture book.
Frog and Toad Are Friends won a Newbery Honor medal for writing. Frog and Toad Together, another book in this series, was a Caldecott Honor book (the award for illustration). You can't get much better than that. I give it a "Read it Again Lap Library Award" for wit, charm, and longevity.
Hard to believe that they have been friends for over 60 years. The book is just as enjoyable now as it was then.
